science learning for all

My name is Jennifer Poo.

I'm an educator, scientist, and science communicator.

STEM education is notoriously inaccessible. Students face hurdles every step of the way.

Accessible science learning is my priority and passion. I ask how we can break down the barriers to STEM learning and research to bring science literacy to the masses?

In undergrad and grad school, I studied how bacteria interact with each other, their environments, and us. Since graduate school, I've focused my efforts on increasing access to science learning and research opportunities at all levels of learning—everything from K-12 through supporting postdoctoral scholars in their professional development.

I recieved my B.S. in Biological Sciences from the University of California, Irvine in 2020, my M.A. in Cell and Molecular Biology from the University of Texas at Austin in 2023, and I have been working at the University of California, Berkeley since 2024.
